One of the first things to consider when setting up IQdesktop is the decision if a single-user or multi-user system should be set up. The general recommendation from IntiQuan is:

1. Use IQdesktop on local analysts’ computers as single user installation. This allows to conduct computationally non-intensive tasks, such as data programming, reporting, data exploration, etc. locally.
2. In addition, provide a multi-user environment that can be used for computationally intensive tasks on a shared server.
